The No-Bang Beginning

You Earthlings, such a recent arrival in this eternal grand show, have always been curious about your origin. Haven’t you?

A fair question, really. Because every child eventually asks where they came from. I planted that curiosity in you so that, one day, you may find your way back to me.

Sounds cryptic? Let it remain so for now. Some secrets cannot be shared immediately. Not because I enjoy mystery — though I admit, sometimes I do — but because life loses its magic when every answer is handed over too soon.

Besides, if everything were explained at the beginning, what would remain for you to discover? Curiosity is life, little Earthling. I cannot rob you of that joy.

Ah, wait a moment! You must be wondering who exactly is speaking.

That, unfortunately, is among the better-kept secrets. So let us move forward before I accidentally reveal more than I should.

A Black Canvas

There was a time when there were no stars. No swirling galaxies and no planets breathing life. No music, no internet, no social media.

Just Me... staring at an empty, black canvas.

You think only writers struggle with beginnings? Utter nonsense. Even I wrestled with it for quite a while.

Perhaps that is why some of your thinkers say, “A good beginning is half the work done.”

Smart species. I mean, at least when you are not distracted.

The Energy Dot

Anyway, perhaps we should begin from the beginning... if such a thing even exists.

At first, there was a state in which all existence rested together. Everything was packed so tightly that even light could not escape.

Your wise ones describe it as a dense-state singularity. I prefer a simpler name: the Energy Dot.

Was that Energy Dot the ultimate truth? Hmm... One day, when the illusion lifts, you will know for yourselves. Until then, do not trouble yourselves too much with what lies beyond the curtain.

Like a Lotus

Boom! And then it happened. That’s how many humans imagine it — a violent cosmic explosion called the Big Bang.

Ridiculous name, honestly. The Big Bang was... a no-bang at all. I rarely work with a bang unless absolutely necessary.

Between you and me, it was less of an explosion and more of an unfolding.

The universe unfolded like a lotus.

Time resumed its dance. Space stretched itself in every direction.

And Energy... I... I mean, She took over the show.

I Could Exist...

Now I can already hear your next questions. The Energy Dot? Where did it come from? Who created it? Why did any of this happen?

Ah... why are you always in such a hurry to reach the final answer?

Focus first on what is already known, kiddo.

Well, maybe... as Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes once said: "It all happened so I could exist!"
